experimental finish..
« on: June 04, 2016, 11:24:00 PM »
I have done this before to cover some really streaky glass and it worked well adding alot of tint to the finish....but this time I only added 3 drops on 2 oz of finish. I used a piece of Maple in this riser, it was pretty light colored so I tinted the finish just to see what it would look like..so far it looks pretty good, kinda of gray but goes well with the black glass..time will tell, the sun can be hard on our bows. I added about 10 layers of scrap black glass for the riser  grip overlay..

looks pretty good. I have been wanting to add some glow in the dark powder in the finish on a white glass bow but haven't tried it yet.

Thanks, I handed it to my friend today, we shot a few arrows and he said he likes it. I was trying to shape the grip like his Sentman MooseJaw LB, Its kinda similar but not close....This bow is Off of my KennyM 62"/64" form but I prefer to build 66" bows off of it..this one is 38# at 28", It shot pretty good with 600 spine carbons and will be a nice bow for target and 3D shooting

But his bow will remain steady, and his hands will be skillful; because of the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,  (Genesis 49:24 [NETfree])

Nice
It's hard to make a wooden bow which isn't beautiful, even if it's ugly.
