60" Bendy Osage
« on: June 25, 2016, 04:29:00 PM »
I got this stave from clint  (scrub-buster or osage outlaw) At the Tn. Classic this year
Thanks clint

60" long  33@28

The stave was very narrow, so I scraped the sides on one end until I got enough thickness to make a bow, then I matched the wide end to the narrow end.I got the tiller and the poundage close at the Classic

the bow sucked up some moisture at the classic.
So when I got home I let it dry in the bow room for 3 weeks or so and heat treated the belly, back to flat and finished the tiller

This is the width I ended up with

It's 7/8" at the handle and 5/16 before the pin nocks

3/16" pin nocks

THANKS TO ALL THE GUY'S AT THE CLASSIC
I had a blast

Very nice work.  What did you use to stain it?

Very cool skinny bow
It's hard to make a wooden bow which isn't beautiful, even if it's ugly.

I used this
 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0098M3850/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I bought it for a BBB I got from James Parker
It's almost finished.
