Fresh from the "oven"(finished pics)
« on: July 24, 2016, 01:21:00 AM »
Well... Fresh from the truck that was parked in the Sun all day.
Had some cherry that i milled up a couple of years ago. So i decided to use it on this bow along with "jatoba" maybe??? That was the Most popular guess on a bow i finished a few weeks ago..."one for my brother".
First time doing spliced lams in the limbs, and i added a couple of mosaic strips in the riser. I will post some pics when its done.

Beautiful bow!  Either a dark rose wood or buffalo horn for the tip overlays, just my thoughts.

I like to use 1/16" red and black phenolic with a piece of the limb veneer on top.

Well, i went the other way on this one. The wife thought that cherry and white would look good. I thought...why not!
Kinda wish i had of went dark. I dont mind the white. Just wish the cherry was darker. The tips will be the same.
Maybe i can stain the cherry a little darker???

I have a coat of gun stock oil on it. It helps me see where i need to sand more.
