My sons first bow
« on: March 07, 2008, 04:33:00 PM »
Well the package arrived today and my wife was like what id this,, HE DIDN"T!!! LOL,, well she opened it and there it was,, my sons first bow that is his all his and not a hand me down from the nephews or his sister.. He seems interested but I think he thinks I'm crazy calling this peice of wood a bow, He kinda looks at me lik        .. This will be my first attempt at a bow and I thought the self bow would be a fine adversary to start with,,I baught the bow stave which seems real nice and straight but it does have a knot in the middle of it,, I think that'll add some mojo to the bow,, Well I'll get started on it this summer and we'll post some pics of his first shots with it,,Thanks for looking and reading along,, It is a 48" stave,,J.B.

J, that knot is gonna give you fits for your first attempt. I'd get with John Scifers, or Eric Krewson for some pointers. JMHO

The youngster looks like he's in LUV!  :D

If you can just make sure that knot is in the handle. Shouldn't be any problem then.

Very cool.  I bet he will have a hand in the making of that bow!

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks fellas,, The knot is smack dab in the middle of the stave and my thought was to keep it in the handle, I hope it works out

Way to go Jason, you should have a great time making that bow. It will be a family heirloom (sp).
