Osage selfbow

Osage 63.5 NtN 53@28 had to use a lot of heat on this one, left a lot of brown on back and belly, really didn't like this bow the entire time I worked on it. I enjoyed making it but we just didn't seem to get along during the process. I carried it over to show Eric Krewson and realized maybe I hadn't given it a fair chance. A few more little adjustments, sanding, stain, some leather  and were getting along fine now. Actually it's a great little shooter that should serve it's purpose well even making it some new arrows.

Love that tiller. I shot that bow when Darin was hating it and found it to be a great shooter, no hand shock, shot where I looked.

Thanks everyone, I like it just fine now. I had just got done building a bamboo back and belly that despite my mistakes turned into a great shooter relatively easy. This one gave me a little more grief along the way.

Thanks all for the comments on the tiller, but really the Gizmo done it. I was lucky enough to meet Eric Krewson through this site. He walked me through my first bow step by step, and gave me a tillering gizmo. Eric continues to be there any time I have questions or need advice, but the best thing he gave me is that gizmo. It's the Gizmo that is continually showing me what proper tiller should look like, all I have to do is trust it, leave the final 6-8 inches stiff and get the fades working a bit.
