Hey guys,
So I'm at the point where I can start drilling the hardware into this riser. I have added a 1/8 inch phenolic strip to the limb pads. I was wondering what you guys do to the belly side of the limbs. I am fearful of the glass pulling splinters up when I drill through it. I have added an overlay of a .050 African black wood and .040 of clear glass to the back of the limb but nothing on the belly. Do I need something on the belly side?
What do you guys do or what would be the best step for a clean and professional mate of riser to limb?
Thanks!

I put a 'pad' of about .050 wood on the belly side coinciding with limb pad above.I feel it just adds a little crush resistance for want of a better term.

Add a few layers of masking tape.. When drilling.. run the drill at medium speed, but penetrate the glass very slowly.. Very little pressure until you are throgh the glass, to avoid splinters under the tape.

I keep the original tape and drill carefully. Even if the hole is good, I put an overlay (underlay?) on the belly after drilling and then redrill.
