Pressure strips???

Up till now i have always just used tire inner tubes for clamps. This method works great and its easy. Recently i built a new form simuler to KennyM's in profile, and i will be using the fire hose.
 My question is... Do i still use pressure strips with this method? Also, what do you do to stop the top lams from moving around? I will pin the bottom stack to the riser as it will be covered with an overlay.

Are you concerned about lengthwise or side to side?

Length... I have washers to eliminate side shift.

I use 1/16"X1 1/2" wide aluminum strips from lowes or home depot. This keeps the glass and lams flat. I run two 3/8" wood dowels through the bottom form then once the lam stack coverd with the pressure strip is in place I tie 550 cord over it to hold it in place. Once the hose and top form are on I add 20# of air and then untie and remove the 550 cord. I add 20# air until it hits 60#s. Ive not had any trouble with lams or tip wedges slipping. Plus I wrap the whole lam stack in cling wrap before putting it on the form.

I use strapping tape to hold everything down before wrapping the entire bow/form in stretch wrap. It stays put!...It will move sideways a bit if you don't have washers or side plates. I have those too.

I've started using cheap electric tape-tricky spots get 5-6 wraps---pressure strips and all--then I wrap the whole thing tight in plastic wrap

I place the lams on the form then tape them in place with brown packingtape. I use spring clamps on either side whilst taping to stop anything moving sideways. Then wrap with thin plastic wrap. Add pressure strip and tape in place. Then wrap again with plastic .
I have never found a need for side washers or any pins using this method.
