I think I put 4 or 5 coats on the last osage bow.  I didn't know if that was to many or not enough.

My glass bow has probably at least four on it, sprayed the edges  2 or 3 to seal the wood then entire limb a couple then one with the flat wheel finish. No probs yet on it, but haven't done a self bow with it.
Stay sharp, Kenny.

Which sanding sealers have you found to fill the grain well and work well with the VHT paint?

I have a Cascade Brushhawk one piece longbow and want to refinish it with the VHT clear gloss. Do I need to completely strip off the original clear finish first, would that be better. And any tips on how set the bow up to paint it so I don't have to touch it once I begin spraying would be good.
Thanks
Matt

Matt all I can say is what condition is the original finish? If it is ok try spraying a limb tip and see if the two finishes are compatable. If it is sound and compatible then wet sand it with 220 or 320 grit to give VHT something to adhear to. I use a wire hook that is shaped to fit in the nock and hang the bow. VHT dries to the touch in 10 minutes so after 4 or so coats take off the wire and spray the tip while holding the bow. VHT is something new so there isn't a lot of experiance using it. If you do decide to use it please let us know how it turned out.

Clint,

Let's us know what glue works with the the VHT.
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.
