I have a r-d bow that's has an IPE belly with pecan backing. It pulls 65# and is a sweet shooter. However, I noticed today that the riser is starting to separate just above the arrow shelf. I know, a picture would be great and I'll try to add one tomorrow. But for now if anyone has ever tried to remove the riser where it joins the belly let me know how it turned out and if there is any gotcha's I need to watch out for. My plan is to simply remove the portion of the riser below the belly, cut and glue on another one. The current riser is a layer of IPE with another layer of pecan. I want to go back with the same type wood.Let me know if you've had any success doing this.
