Since I had a nice long weekend for the fourth, I borrowed my dads chrony and did a little testing. Ive only built four bows, but wanted to see if they were doing as good as I thought. Or if it was just new bow syndrome.
All bows were drawn bow in hand to 28" and shot a 10grn/lb arrow(or as close as I could get) with a mechanical release. I shot five arrows. Threw out the high and low, and averaged the middle three. I will add, the arrows were spined stiff for all but one bow.
The first three bows were all off the same form. Having a 6-3/4"-7-1/4" brace height.
43#/60"- 176.7 fps
42#/58"- 175.1 fps
53#/56"- 181.4 fps
And the fourth was off my forward handle shorty form. Braced about 7-1/2"-7-3/4".
35#/54"- 175.6 fps
Then just for comparison, I shot my 67'- Kodiak hunter that I hunted with last season.
48#/58"- 168.9 fps
I think I'm doin alright
