« on: August 24, 2017, 05:09:00 PM »
I have a Stranded Bamboo Riser block 1-1/2" x 2-1/2" x 16"
One of the PA guy's wants me to use it for the riser.
Any body use it before?

Should work just fine.  It's essentially bamboo flooring grown large -- bamboo embedded in epoxy.

Looks interesting.  I'd give it a shot!

Never seen it in person. I don't know?  do you think the fades would be OK? they have to bend multiple times..

The  riser needs to be 18"
The block is 16", so I will pattern sand and glue 1/8 to 3/16" to the back of the riser and pattern sand again. most of the fade will be what I add on, so YES. then it has a power lam also.

It's very flexible. I used it once as a belly lam in a bamboo backed tri-lam. That bow is still shooting. Nasty stuff for slivers though.
I got it from a piece of flooring.

It's not flooring, it's more like a beam.

I saw that stranded boo flooring and wondered about it's potential for lams. I decided not to take a chance with it, but now I'm thinking of glueing some up for a riser.

Max, we need pitchers!
