I have Beman MFX classics 500 spine (basically the same arrow). I shoot them out of my longbow at 29.5"; the arrow is 30.5" with a 125 grain point. Bow is 50@28" so I'm shooting around 53 lbs. They fly great for me, same arrow in my Kota which is
[email protected]" and it likes 145 grains up front.
From what I’ve read on other threads, the 400 spine carbons like the Axis’s and Beman MFX’s need a ton of wait up front with bows around 50 lbs at that arrow length and draw weight. Most are using brass inserts and a heavy head. When I started working with my Kota I shot it with 125 grain points and they just didn’t look right in the target, switched to 145 grain tips and they flew great. Which is good since I didn’t want to spend a ton of money trying to find something that worked.
