Limb Question
« on: March 09, 2008, 11:50:00 PM »
Hello to everyone again. The Bob Lee Hunter t/d I just bought used seems to have two cracks, one on each limb where the top lamination attaches to the limb itself. (The top lamination that the limb bolts are seated into.) It runs the length of the front of this top lamination. It seems like just the front of that lamination is lifted a tiny bit. I checked the bolts and they were just snug. The people at Jay's said the bow was well with in the warranty still. What do you guys think.
P.S I noticed this when I first got it home. It had been bothering me so I figured I would ask. NO dry fires and maybe 50 shots so far.

To the top. Some body out there should know what to tell ya about your bow. Personally, if the cracks were real bad, i wouldn't shoot the bow. Have you got any pics? That may help determine the shoot ability.

The cracks aren't looking too bad. I took a marker and made a small dot at the end of each crack a day ago and I have shot the bow over 100 times since then. They are still the same size and the bow is still shooting great. Should I apply some glue to the cracks or would it have no affect?

If it is a new bow with a warranty I would send it back for a replacement. Why should you have to be worried if it will get worse or even possibly hurt someone.

If its still under warranty,I'd get it looked at/fixed. I imagine the folks at Bob Lee would want to see it,no one likes to see problems with their product.I've heard Bob Lee will take care of things. It might be from overtightening the limb bolts, assuming that is the td system.
Stay sharp, Kenny.

I spoke to my friend at Jay's and he told me just to bring it in next time I stop by. It seems like it will be fine. If it really is a problem I know it will be taken care of properly.
