Iron Mountain Longbows?
« on: March 10, 2008, 01:05:00 AM »
Is anyone familiar with a guy in Tennessee that makes longbows that are called Iron Mountain?  If so what kind of feedback can you give me about his bows.  I may have opportunity to buy one but don't know anything about them!  Thanks, Mike

Mike Forrester is the maker of Iron Mt. bows. He made my wife a longbow a few years back. The last I heard he is no longer making bows.
I have shot several of his bows, and found them to be good shooters, and very well made.

outstanding shooters and very hard to find since he has limited production. Buy it, get bored with it soon and then PM with you're asking price.  :bigsmyl:

A well known IBO longbow shooter, Bill Leslie, shot Iron Mountain longbows the last I knew.  Bill spoke highly of them.  Bill has represented the US at least twice in Europe shooting as a team with a recurve and a compound shooter.  As I recall, they won the team title both times.

They are great shooting bows if you can find one now.Mike had quit building them except for a few once in while the last I heard.I always look for them at swap tables at the shoots in the summer.  :)

I have one and it is the only bow I now use.  Been my one and only for several years now.  Always figured I'd get Mike to build me another one but can't find a reason why I need another one as this one is just to good to stop shootin.
