bingham projects wood dye

Binghams dye directions call for mixing with hot water,but has anyone ever tried mixing it with denatured alcohol??

I've never used theirs. But id stick with the factory recommendations.
Life is to short to pass up anything that could potentially be bow wood!

There are two different dye powders. One is water soluble and the other is alcohol soluble.

Alcohol is the best because it evaporates almost instantly, so it doesn't bleed over like the water soluble and doesn't raise the grain of the wood.
