Need some help!......
« on: March 10, 2008, 07:47:00 PM »
Well since deer season went out I have been working on improving my shooting form. One of the things I did was change my anchor. I went from 27 3/4" to 29". Here's my problem. My favorite bow is a 65lb @ 28" Dwyer long bow(not cut to center). I killed 4 deer with it this year and it has a special place in my heart. I figure I am now pulling to about 68 lbs at 29". I can't get a single arrow in my collection to fly out of it now. Most of what I have is carbons.... I have tried a GT 3555 cut at 29.5" to weak, a Carbon express 150 29.5" also to weak. A GT 5575 cut to 29 1/8" also to week.(I figured this would work since the bow is not cut to center but it still showed weak with the bare shafts. I am thinking that a Carbon express 250 would be in order here. What do you guys think? Anyone shoot a similar longbow set up...... weight/draw length etc. I really hate to spend another $100.00 unless I know they would work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You might try a thicker sideplate. Hap

If the GT 55/75's don't work, doubt the 250's will either, since they spine about the same.  I would go to 350's and play with length and point weight.  Have you gone down all the way to 125grn. points on the 55/75's?  That might do it, or, as Hap said, move the arrow away from center.  Good luck, Paul.

Try what Hot Hap said first, before spending any money.
