I am just getting back into bows.I am now putting together some new shafts ( carbon to start with)and had always used straight fletching and feathers.I was wondering about putting a "twist on them". What say you?

A helical (twist)fletch will help stabilize the arrow. The added spin can help offset improper spine. Right or left makes no difference, you just need a right or left jig to match the right or left feathers used. But, nothing will help more than a perfectly spined shaft.

A slight offset on the straight will work well enough if you have enough feather. Helical will stabilize faster, but some will argue it is loud, depending on how much of a helical and the type of feather.
