Well Dr. Penetration, now I know who got all the stiff Hickory! LOL!
The best Dennis had for me in 11/32, hunting tapered was 70-75#. Beautiful shafts by the way, they were all very straight and top quality wood.

You've identified hickory as less prone to breakage at impact than laminated birch. Would laminated hickory be a further improvement, both in impact resistance as well as resistance to to warpage? Are such shaft dowels available?

AMAW has some 80-85 hickories in stock, I'm going to get a doz of them and play with leangth and tip weight and see if I can get them to work. Thanks for the info guys.

Well got my Hickories ordered and some 160gr Snuffers, should be a good setup for Turkey and maybe deer. I got some 200gr Ace Super Express heads to try with them too.
