Weekend hunt comes together.
« on: November 03, 2010, 04:47:00 AM »
It was decided on wednesday to go up north for a quick hunt, we were to leave friday arvo after work and come back sunday arvo, i've done it before and without a hitch. This trip was looking the same until half way up i remembered my quiver, to late to turn back id have to improvise.
So a roll of tape a bottle of water, a bottle of ice coffee, a length of rope and a foot an ahalf bit of wood had me a side quiver.
Also to make things worse i forgot to pack extra arrows. Saturday morning sees me out at a mill with a dodgy quiver and five arrows for a day and half hunt.

Sitting about 200 hundred meters of the mill i could see a mob of about 60 goats coming in to water glassing over the mob there was nothing big so i decided to go for some dog meat the owner asked me to get, after the mob watered and started to move of i quickly scrambled across the iron ston hill to get in front of them after a bit of luck and bein a bit tinny i was in the path of the quickly movin goats, one billy was silly enough to give me a broadside so i slip a magnus tipped Easton Legacy alloy 2018 out of my 57#@28inch Blackwidow PLX longbow, He ran only a few meters and dropped, a pretty good way to start the trip. After i got his legs i headed back to the mill to wait for me old man and have a few beers.
Sunday i decided to sit on a mill and see what was hangin about, lucky for me there were a few with death wishes.
All in all what was looking like a real sucky trip turned out ok.

You can see the quiver in the pics

Luke..

Dodgy means a bit suspect or shonky or ordinary or prone to break or something to watch-out for.
