One Antler Buck
« on: November 17, 2014, 11:42:00 AM »
On 11/09/14 I was up in a treestand in a cedar tree.  I had moved the stand just the day before.  I told myself I would stay in stand until 9:00 am.  At 8:55 am I heard the crunch in the leaves of a deer coming.  He came out from behind the brush and paused for just moment at about 15 yards on the trail to my left side.  I came to full draw and placed the arrow behind the shoulder, quartering towards me shot, and the arrow exited out thru lungs and liver.  I watched him run and stop and then heard him crash and gurgle.  About a 40 yard recovery.

Equipment: 60", 60# @ 27" (my draw), Damon Howatt Super Diablo Recurve, 2117, 610 grain arrow, 3 5"marco vanes off a toothbrush arrow rest, Woodsman elite 160 glue on BH.

Packing in to get the "Peacework" done.

Looking forward to summer sausage...
