warped blade
« on: April 30, 2018, 11:36:53 AM »
I sent out a blade for heat treat and temper. It came back with a bend/warp. Ive read where it could maybe be fixed by heating in an oven and shimming the blade back to straight or maybe even past straight. The metal is 80crv2. Can anyone comment on this. Appreciate any help. Thanks,Frank.

Just an update on the bent blade. I put it in the oven at 375 and let it heat up and then shimmed the blade back to a little past straight. I left it in the oven for around one and a half hours. It took a couple of times but its as straight as it could be. The original  temp time was for 425 for two hours twice. Thanks, Frank.
