Charity auction bow

So, this is a bow I built for a charity auction.

I provided a sample bow and agreed to make one to spec for the winner.  He wanted something with a grey and red theme.  So, I bought a big block of grey actionwood from Bingham's and a nice piece of Bloodwood from Woodcraft.  I made spliced limbs and a two wood riser using the grey actionwood and bloodwood.  I wasn't real pleased with the coloration of the bloodwood.  It didn't turn out as red as I would have liked.  Still looks nice though.

Anyway, here's how it turned out.

I have a template to draw the shape.  I glue the two halves together with just a few dots of Titebond, draw the shape, and then cut on the bandsaw.

Then, I disassemble the two halves and put the two pieces together and sand off the saw marks on the spindle sander.

I make one or two accent strips and then glue everything together with Smooth On.

Maybe I'll post a build along for how to do it.  I promise it's a lot easier to do than it is to explain.
