Hello, I am not really sure what forum to ask this question, so I am just goin with here. I have a Darton Ranger Recurve bow with #45 draw.
There are no string grooves, only notches in the side of the limb. The tips are not reinforced and the limbs are twisted some. Strings are always breaking at the point where they rest on the sharp angle instead of a smoother groove.
I was wondering if anyone would think it would be a problem if I took a small rat tail file and filed small string grooves into the part of the limb that faces the shooter. Just so the string isnt sitting on the sharp angle, b/c there are only notches in the side of the limb. Any input might keep me from ruining a nice bow. Thanks
