Super Shrew Limited
« on: March 23, 2008, 12:27:00 AM »
Just saw a picture on another site of a "Super Shrew Limited" but cant find any info about this model? Anyone got some pictures/information of the "Limited" model of the Shrew? What are the specs of this bow? Can they still be ordered?

Thanks!

Only 100 of the SS Limited bow's where made. There was also a knife that came with each bow. Every once in awhile you will see one up for sale but it is rare.

Should be some pics shortly has a couple members have them.

I did see where one bow was made that looked like the limited but not sure how they went about it.

This is the only bow I sold that I wish I did not. It was just to heavy and I could not just let it sit on the wall.

Good luck in your search.

+1 on that!  I had one I bought from a TG member.  I sold it in a fit of insanity.

I have #1 of #100 and the knife.

Here are Ron's comments on the bow:

"The Super Shrew Limited has a bamboo limb core with actionwood vaneer over the bamboo. The arrow inlay in the limbs are actually wood inlayed into the limb (not painted). The riser is Dymondwood and the riser and tip overlays are stag horn. A knife came with the bow and the handle was the same Dymondwood as the bow riser. Knife and bow have matching numbers."

It's the same design as Super Shrew except for the bamboo limb cores.  (I think only the Super Shrew Samurai has bamboo cores standard)

Mine is 58# @ 28" 58"

Shoots great.

I bought it used here on TG.  I'm the second owner.  The first owner bought it from Ron's shop soon after the bow was built.

I was looking at Shrews and one showed up on the classified page.  The description was not real clear other than it was a limited.  I contacted the seller and he mentioned the exact bow was shown on Ron's web site.  I asked "you mean it's #1 of 100?"  He said "yes", I said "sold".

$600 total for combo.

I bought mine from a TG member too.  Mine did not have the knife though, as he had given the knife to his son.  Great shooting bow too.

One eye, What did you pay? I am trying to get an idea what one of these things is worth second hand?  Also is your the brown or gray version? Pics?

Anyone with a left handed version of this combo that wants to sell please send me a PM.

Thanks!

I'll try to post some pics. I have Shrew LE labeled "Lucky Number 7". Asked for that number as preferred was already sold.

Mine is very special as it is part of the first set of father/son shrews that my son Smith and I share. His bow is very special--it is the only authorized Shrew clone ever made (complete with knife).

I had won a bid for a custom youth bow made by Carl Miller (Plywood Bender)and asked him if he could clone my LE. Carl talked to both Ron and John to get permission. John even sent him a piece of riser wood. Carl did a beautiful job--complete with arrow inlay.

That pair of Shrews will always be treasured.
