Best way to remove clicker adhesive from limb?
« on: June 26, 2018, 06:42:41 PM »
Hi guys,

So I guess it's a sign that I've been shooting a lot of arrows when the adhesive backing on my clicker has degraded so much that the entire unit pulls off the limb. I have a replacement clicker to install but what do you guys recommend as the safest way to remove the residual double-stick foam adhesive from the fiberglass on the limb so the new adhesive has a clean surface to adhere to?

Thanks!

Dental floss. Start it under the adhesive and then work it back and forth in a sawing motion. This also works good for removing limb savers. - John

I have had good luck just getting a lip or edge then start pushing or rolling it back with my thumb evenly across until its off, if that makes any sense.

Olive oil works better than anything for removing any kind of residue from stickers. No joke.

Good suggestions above, remember to degrease with denatured alcohol or acetone for good adhesion.

GooGone or GoofOff works very well. It leaves a residue, though, so you’ll have to wipe that off with alcohol or something.
