Shooting a bow tillered 3 under split finger

I am looking at a bow that has been tillered for 3 under and was wondering how it  would shoot split finger.  Is it a matter of changing the nock point or is there more to it than that.  Thanks. Bob

It's really only a matter of changing the nock point, unless you have an ILF bow. You can change the tiller of an ILF by screwing the limb bolts in or out.  The way you change the (dynamic) tiller on any other bow is to move the nock point up or down, unless you want to take a file to it. For the real techies out there, can also change the tiller of a 3-piece bow by shiming the limb butts. Moving the nock point works just as well.

I once had a Black Widow PCH II that was even tillered or 3-under.  I set the nock point at 1/2" above center and shot away.  It worked fine and I had good luck bare shafting arrows.

I do, have a couple I had tillered “even”. I don’t see any difference.

not a problem shooting an even tiller split finger.  It's the positive tiller shooting 3 under that cause issues.

Agree with Orion.  Small changes in nocking points accommodate either style well shooting split in a bow tillered for 3 under and vice versa.

I shoot split, and every bow I own is tillered even. It does not seem to hurt a thing!

I agree with the previous comments.  I bought a second set of limbs for my TT recurve.  Turns out they are tillered even.  I set up the nock height the same (3/8") and can tell no difference.  Arrow flight is great as just as quiet or quieter than my original limbs.

My 2nd Blacktail is tillered 3 under (I  always shoot split) and never had a problem tuned easy and shoots great!

So shooting an event tillered bow split...would that usually require a higher nocking point?

Even tiller is used to accommodate the higher nock point of three under shooting.  If you shoot it split, can probably nock at the same height you do any other bow.
