Which flu flu
« on: July 26, 2018, 06:55:16 PM »
Any preference for full size feathers or the spiral flu flu?  Is one more or less durable, harder to fletch than the other ?
Is there a trick to fletching the spirals?

5" length helical 4 fletch works for me. Easy and effective. Arrows go about 50-60 yards.

We use the spirals for yard arrows, and these instructions work very well.   Even for me.  Just one feather per arrow may be enough, depending on how short you need to be.

Spirals are easy to make and you can use one or two wraps. Trim down to make them fly faster and farther or leave alone for slower to stay close by.

I can’t wait to go on days off to make a few.  I have some spare full metal jackets to put them on

The base of the store bought spiral is ground thin so it will wrap around the shaft.

By store bought. Do you mean archery store or like a hobby
