Gap shooting

I was listening to a interview the other day, and it was about GAO shooting. I understand gapping at the target but what is gapping at the bow?

Gapping at the bow or riser is visualizing the gap at the riser instead of at the target. For instance my gap at 20 yards at the target is approx. 20" which equates to 1" at the riser. For me much quicker and easier to pick up.

Here is my rather crude drawing to illustrate this.
