Wing, AMF, Red Wing Hunter
« on: March 26, 2008, 05:16:00 PM »
Well my Wing, AMF, Red Wing Hunter showed up finally.  I took it out and shot it at the BLOCK then went stump shooting for about 2 hours.

I understand that an AMF isn't as collectable as a Lee or a Head Inc. but let me tell you, I had a great day of shooting.  I was hitting everything from 10 yards to 40 yards.  Sometimes things just fall together.  I guess I hit the nock in just the right place on the first try and my arrows were spined just right for the bow too.
Can't wait to go to Gander Mt's traditional night shoot.

No matter what some might think, they are a good bow. Value means nothing, if it shoots good and your happy that is all that matters, I like them all.

The lazy do not roast any game,
but the diligent feed on the riches of the hunt.

I got one for $90 and has been my sole use bow for over a year now. I don't think I'll ever sell it.

The AMF bows were built on the same forms.  I never understood the stigma of the AMF Wing.  Their Slim Line bows were great shooters too.

Paid $50 for mine.  Shoots great, but it doesn't get used much as it's my "basement bow", for indoor practice.  Would really like to have that shiny finish used on virtually all bows in that 60's-70's stripped & replaced with matte...

Nah, I like the high gloss finish.  That's why they make camo tape.
