File sharpening a two blade broadhead
« on: August 31, 2018, 03:48:36 PM »
While looking for a nocking point tutorial I stumbled across this broadhead sharpening thread I did a while back. I'm gonna have to sit down and just browse through the "How To Forum" just too see what interesting stuff I can find to read. I hope this helps someone who's interested in learning to file sharpen their broadheads.

I had only superficially glossed over the first page until now. There is alot of useful stuff over there.

For certain style broad heads, I find the Tom Mussato method to be better.  I use a similar method, get about the same thing done with different tools.  While I do not expect anyone to copy what I do, for 3 to 1 heads and for softer metal heads, there are options that may work better for some.  I know that Tom's method was explained in the dvd, it would be nice if was on file here.

Well, I thought there was more to the video than there is. There's a couple others to supplement these two but they won't load. Poo!!!

I've got Tom Mussato's video in my files but I can't get them to move here.

I would like to view Tom Mussato's style of file sharpening but have never had the opportunity to view his style.

Can you load them to vimeo or imgur, or you tube?

I'll mess with it today and see if I can get it posted somewhere. Not sure I'm smart enough. :knothead:

I thought I still had the video, so I was looking how to get it done.  Then my wife said that I borrowed to someone, typical, just like my Byron and Schulz DVDs, they never come back.  This is the more standard, as demonstrated by Rob Green. I think my method on single bevels is a bit more effective, but for those that may be serrated curious.  It is something to watch.

That seems simple enough. I'll have to try it.
