Antler tip overlay installation
«
on:

I'm wanting to put antler tip overlays on an osage selfbow. I have the antler cut and sanded flat on one side and now need to sand the limb tip flat. I'm worried that I may violate the growth ring on the back while sanding the limb tip. Is this ok as long as its under the overlay?

You will. It's OK. Here's a tipalong I did a while back:

Here's some horn ones I did on a BBO:

Thanks John! I saw the horn tip tute you have on your site but missed the BBO antler tips. Nice job. I hope mine turns out that well. BTW, your site (and others) have been a great help during my venture into selfbows.
