Adjusting Tiller ? Trap or Narrow ?

I was putting on my tip overlays & adjusting string center this morning when the string popped off from brace & dinged the glass on the lower limb back edge on my jointer , lucky it caught on the edge but I had to narrow the limb slightly & slightly trap but now I went from 3/16 positive tiller to about 3/16 to 1/4 negative tiller so here is my question would I be better off just narrowing the other limb or trapping or both ? Or just waiting to shoot and see how it shoots ? The ding was upper mid so I only narrowed from there to tips ? I'm trying to minimize loosing draw weight ?

I would shoot it first before I made any decisions.  Split or 3 under will make a little difference.

I usually trap only at the end for fine tuning or if I can't narrow a limb any more...

  I say shoot it, draw it on a cable and see if the limbs are bending the same at three under or split  and see if the cable stays centered, Put it on a tillering stick, trace the limbs on paper and sand where needed and / or accurately measure the limb widths in 3 or 4 spots and compare......   If everything happens to be matching nicely and you need to slightly change the tiller just round the corners off jus a hair more on one limb...

  It is more important to have a good shooting bow than to make weight...

Thanks guys , you guys are going to love this green pea mistake....lol well I was scrathing my head with trying to figure out with the amount of width I took off how did it change the tiller that much, so I pulled it to full draw 30 times and let it mary the string braced for a couple hours remeasured and Im 3/16 positive then I realized when I was measuring near the fades I was reading the stick high side and the other limb low side of the stick and because of the angle on this angular bow its that far off.....lol  Darn green pea 😃 Woosh !!!!!

Yep that's the 64 in. one with the supper lam I'm working on a 62 in. with stable core and the supper lam as soon as this ones done ,Kenny's supper lam is about perfect for this bow keeps ever thing stiff where it needs it !

Yes sir I have done three with the super lam. It looks cool at brace and stiff tips will let it load quicker on the bottom end.

Personally I would do the same thing to the opposite limb as you did to the other one. Not only would it help fix tiller but would keep the weight of each limb relatively balanced which would help with timing and help reduce ossilation in the limb after the shot therefore reducing Hand shock. And I trap all my bows if I can do it without loosing to much weight.

Like some say trapping never got me anywhere till the end.  For me maybe one pound.....  Tapering will do it.

I can get 4-6 lbs easily by trapping and it’s just a personal preference. I like the looks better and I feel it gives a little smoother draw ( no evidence just my thoughts) .
