I have a Royal that I got off the classifieds, and really like it. Mine is 66" and  57@28" The craftsmanship seems to be very good in my opinion.

I wish...I had a beauty that I had to sell some years back when I lost my job. It was a superb bow in every way.

I have had mine for sometime now. It’s not as fancy as his newer bows but it shoots great. A Royal. IMO it can hold its own against any of them. I have shot many of the well know R/D LB’s in it’s class. Wes also has IMO outstanding customer service. Not sure what his build time is these days.

Fantastic.... I have a Royal takedown and have shot some Mentors. All were excellent.

I had a 66 inch 2 PC. Royal longbow.I like that bow.I like his two piece T.D system as well. The grip is also very user friendly.

I also had the 3 PC recurve.I think if you like a larger riser with some mass weight it would suit you very well. They are a lot like Brackenbury and Blacktail recurves. The Brackenbury influence is evident.Brackenbury built a great recurve

I really like the looks of his one piece recurve. Its a 60s style bow. That looks like it could be a tack driver in the right hands.I would really like to try that 1 piece someday.

I’ve owned around 5 mentors and a one piece longbow.there will always be one in my stable ,excellent shoot ability along with superb workmanship .you can’t go wrong. Wes is an excellent man to deal with.

I've had several Mentors and the craftsmanship is second to none. Have had several t/ds and am currently shooting a 1 piece. Yes, there definitely is a Brackenbury influence, hence the name. Similar riser to the Blacktail and Fox bows-as far as I'm concerned the NW bowyers have the most repeatable riser shape. Fine bows!
The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.

Awesome bows. He worked with Jim Brankenbury until Brankenburys tragic death. In fact,  his flagship bow " Mentor " was named in Mr Brankenbury's honor. Norm Johnson's Blacktails are very similiar. He also was influenced by Jim  Brankenbury. I have a Blacktail Sitka and a Wallace Mentor. Both are a work of art. My Mentor draw weight is a little much for my liking though!  😞

This is a good thread.  I've been keeping an eye out for a TD royal.

I have had three Wes Wallace recurves. Two Mentors and one stealth model.  All of mine have been 64 inch models. They are amazing, bows. You will not be disappointed.

I have a Mentor, 66", 41@29.  I use it to shoot target in the winter months.  It is one of the smoothest bows I have shot and the accuracy is second to none.  Wes is a great guy to deal with and he will not be satisfied until you are.
