Reducing Weight
«
on:
November 20, 2018, 09:23:10 AM »
The older I get the harder some of my bows become to draw. I hate to sell anything some have been gifts some have sentimental value. My question is will most bowyers reduce weight on bows they’ve made? I had my Widows reduced , but I have a few longbows I would love reduced if I send them to the original makers. Is that a normal request?

Thanks for the input Greg. What would that cost me and how long would the wait be? I believe you made one of the bows I’m talking about.

It is a good way to keep all the grand old bows in service. I have had good success in lightening quite a few and maintaining the the tiller exactly. You can't tell anything has been done visually. >>>-----> ken

I agree. After the holidays I’m going to have a Shrew that my wife bought used for my birthday sent out for reduction.

Hi there, If you do decide to lighten your bows draw weight. Check around get estimates then I would appreciate your considering giving me a shot. I will save you money and do you a good job. I would like to hear the details-- the weight now and how much you would like it reduced as well as the estimates you get. If I can't save you money and time I wouldn't do it.
Thanks, >>>>-----> Ken

Thanks MCS I realized the instant I sent that I broke the rules. I simply forgot where I was. I hope it doesn't cause a problem. So sorry. >>>>-----> Ken
