Osage near Dundee Ohio

I’m driving from northeast pa to Dundee Ohio on December 21 to pick up a puppy for my daughters Christmas present. Breeder is in Ohio farm land and I think osage is pretty common there. Anyone know where I could cut some without getting arrested or shot at? I asked the breeder and they cant think of any offhand but how many people besides bow makers do know of any?  Anyway I know this is a long shot but figured I’d ask anyway. I’d love to come home with some. Thanks in any advance for any guidance!!

 Not sure if there used much around there, but look on Craigslist for hedge fence posts. Find someone that cuts a lot so there fairly “fresh” and bug free.

This is probably the wrong place to ask for someone to give up an Osage stash. 

If you really want Osage.......I’d throw the chainsaw in the truck and knock on some doors. Yes, there are many farms in Ohio that have Osage trees. Vast majority of them grow more like a bush than a tree. Get off the highway and drive down some county and township roads. Many of the farmers will think you are crazy and be more than happy to let you cut one. Finding an Osage is not hard. Finding one worth cutting can be.

Many of the trees will be in hay or pasture fields. So make sure you have the time and are willing to clean up the rest of the tree that you want to cut.

Bvas made a good point, in the winter months I have access to a lot osage and permission to cut what I want, but it's rare maybe 1 in 25 trees that I would cut , finding good strait grain osage is hard to come by & a lot of work to cut and split , but finding nice branch wood is more comon and easier to come by ,if you have a pole saw to take with you could probably find some decent off shoots or branches also if your going to cut osage trees ,2 chain saws are almost a must it has saved me a lot of times !
