Resident Tapatalk Guru??? General discussion?
« on: December 14, 2018, 01:48:57 PM »
Do we have a resident Tapatalk Guru that can actually either walk people through using tap a talk with pics or post a video of how it works with Tradgang?

I'm not that versed on it at all yet...

I'd bet there are videos on you tube for that.

I have tapatalk but hardly ever use it as my phone does good without it.

Once when this new forum had just started, I looked at TapaTalk, but it seemed like it was something you had to subscribe to and pay for, which I wasn't interested in.  Is that true, or is there a way to get it for free?

I believe I paid a one time fee for ad free app.

I think there is also a free app available.

Do a search and see what it comes up with.

I have the free app I'm just not very familiar with it since I can post pics from my phone with the right settings. But some people are all over it. That's why I inquired maybe it's better for some people than others. But no I didn't pay anything it's free.

Yes mine was free as well and all I do for pics is hit the paper clip at the bottom of my screen and it takes me straight to my phone’s photo album and I select the pic I wish to attach wait for it to load, usually less than 5 seconds and hit reply at the top right of my screen. I’ll have to try a video.

I have used the free version of the app for years on a fishing forum I post at.  You don't need to pay anything.  Once you have the app and are signed into Tradgang it's easy to post and add pics.  I am not sure I can make a video but may try some screen shots.

Here is a screen capture I took of this thread.  The black arrow I drew is the reply button.

Once you hit that button you will get a screen like this, at least on my phone.  All you have to do is touch the plus sign and it will give you the options to attach previously taken photos or take a new picture you want to post.

I have the Tapatalk Pro version (the app cost a couple bucks, but no ads to deal with), and mine looks nothing like the one posted above! Posting pics here with Tapatalk is super easy!!!!

I’m certainly no Guru!!!! Curt would probably throw rocks at me for trying to make that claim!!! But here goes:

So, to make a post and add a pic, I do the following:

1) To create a post, I tap on the little orange circle in the bottom right hand corner of the screen -

Add whatever introductory text you need. When you need to post a pic you either tap on the little camera icon or the pic icon above your phone keyboard. I’m posting from my phones camera roll, so I clicked on the picture icon -

This opens your camera roll so you can select a pic to post -

Select the pic you want, and tap on Done in the bottom right hand corner -

Then a pop up will appear where you can pick the size for the pic you want to post. Always pic the small size, which will be somewhere around 640x480, depending on the pic -

Next tap Reply in the top right corner, and your post will come up, complete with pics!!

The pics show up in your post you are creating as an address, but when you hit Reply to make your post, the pics will show up correctly on the thread you are posing in.

Also, you can type some text, then add a pic or pics, then type some more text, and so on until your story is told!

Easy-Peasy!!!!!!!

Hope this helps some of y’all out!!

I just joined, and didn't have to pay anything (yet).  I was prepared to be offered an ad free version for a price, but that option didn't come up (yet).

Mine comes up a tad differently, Bisch.
I tap the orange arrow circle in bottom right. Then up comes the text window and directly under that window is another window with a blank photo window. I tap the blank photo window and my phones picture gallery opens. I click a picture then click done. Then in top right corner is a black arrow and clicking that sends the post.

This is from tapatalk app.

Wow looks like I'm going to have to investigate this more. Glad to see people are finding ways to get their pictures posted. Like I said, I just post directly from here using the simple clicks that Rob has provided for us in the FAQs thread ticket at the top.....

But I'm going to delve into this a little more based on what y'all posted so I can be familiar with it myself.

Keep It Coming guys.... :campfire:
