Super Kodiak i.d. help
« on: December 20, 2018, 04:08:15 AM »
New to the trad lifestyle(sport), and have a chance to buy a Bear Super Kodiak... The serial# appears to be KZ4910, with a 60"amo, and 48# draw... Don't have good pictures to post of it yet, hoping to put eyes and hands on it Friday... The knowledge I've gained reading through posts on this site tells me a early 70(?) if there's no stab. bushing/flush coin? Any i.d. tips and suggestions of things to pay attention for in the 70s years or more specific dating would be much appreciated....thanks in advance.

There is really no difference between the 1970 thru 1972 Super Kodiaks. They all had the same futuerwood combo with black glass with the rosewood stripe and same serial number prefix. The only variant was the 64" in 1970 had a ky prefix. They are all the same and if you laid one of each side by side you would not be able to tell the difference. That being said your bow is from 1970 1971 or 1972.  There is really no way to nail it down any more than that.

Kinda agree with Mike after seeing the Super Kodiak decal on the back of the limb.
