Kids Hunting Bows?
«

For the fellas that have children ages 10-15 years old...that are already hunting with traditional bows....I would like to know what their setups are?
Draw length, weight at their draw length, bow type and make, arrows, etc?
I have a 13 year old son that will hunt with me this season...just hoping to see what others have had success with.
Success photos are always welcome!

Here we have to use a minimum of 40 @28 inches. My daughter is 13 she is having trouble finding something she can handle, with a 26 inch draw she has to be at about 43- 46 to make it legal..I have her with FOC carbon arrows with 2 blade 125 grain head.
This is our set up for her, but again she couldnt do it last year, maybe this fall.
Ill be watching the thread to get some ideas and learn. Thanks for starting it.

Perhaps Mike Mecredy will chime in he should be helpful. Hope it works out I dearly loved my bow hunting with my boy at that age. At that time we had those funny lookin round things on the end of our bows.

About 34# at his draw. About a 475-500 grain arrow with a 175 or 200 grain grizzly. 16 yard shot, passed through.

Welcome Josh. Football, girls and his first truck have helped to take his time away from hunting, but we make the most of what we have.
Because they grow so fast I tuned my arrows to bows that I could get lighter limbs for or picked up some 600 spines.
He keeps his shots to 15-16 yards, and I take him out for hunt squirrels, rabbits and grouse to build up his confidence.
Kudos for getting yours going. You learn a lot passing it down.
