Did Simmons Archery go out of business?
« on: April 02, 2008, 02:48:00 PM »
One of the guys at the archery club said he thought Simmons Archery (makers of the Land/tree shark) went out of business. Any of you fellows know if there is any truth to this? The guy said that the only thing for sale would be what was already made and that they are no longer making any more broad-heads. I knew they had it up for sale but this is the first I heard of them going out of business.

According to the website they are still in business, for sale, and taking orders.

I saw that same thing on the website. I have been trying to call for the last 2 days, all the phone does is ring, no one ever picks up.

Hope not.  Those are my favorite broadheads. Maybe it's like Coke and we'll all rush to stock up. LOL

After calling for a few days trying to get some Tree Sharks and leaving messages for them to please return my call, I got a call back yesterday. There are no Tree Sharks in stock. When I ask how long before they'd have any, he said a couple of months but he didn't sound too sure. There has not been any 135gr Land Sharks available since last year. All I've got left in stock are some Interceptors. I hate to do it but if I can't get them I'm going to take the Simmons heads off my website   :(

On the side bar, I first met Jerry in the 70’s. I didn’t know anything about hunting then and still have a lot to learn. We, (the club) admitted Jerry into to our bow-hunting club because of his expertise. I assisted with others in dragging out his 200th deer kill, a nice 8 pointer. Jerry was making his own broadheads then, and I purchased a ½ dozen. I still have a couple, less one stuck in a Georgia hog. Jerry was always a gentleman, and quite humorous. Our paths haven’t crossed since then, but I remember him when I see Land Sharks in sporting goods stores. I'm sure the business will continue.

I ordered two packs of treeshark glue on Monday. They came in yesterday only one pack. With a note that said it would be 2 months before they had anymore. Just What Ron said. DB
