I miss Curtis being around,  he's a heck of a nice guy and a great pig hunter.

Mike

Me too.   Been a long time.  I hope he is doing well.

Since this thread from 2006, I've shot a lot more big hogs so...

I'll add my experience on 'Big Hogs' the for the table.

I'll shoot a big hog anytime I get a chance..... If they are not rank they are good eating..... Yep, even boars.

From FL SC GA to TX  I have found this to be 100% true.

On big boars that are old I'll take them to a processor for sausage.... As I have a  Great one  Here in Georgia.....

But he can't hold a candle to the one in Jupiter Florida that Marty McMahon uses.... One of my biggest boars, That I called blockhead, Was absolutely fabulous and was on many a table in other hunting camps.

So don't Either not shoot or throw away a large boar if you do shoot ... As long as they are not  rank they eat well.

Yes, Mr. Green my hogs have ranged from 1/2# to 367# dressed.  Kills with tomahawk, recurve and longbow.  All ate very well.  Some required a bit more marinade, but ate well.  Don't waste pork!!!

Marty's processor offered several flavors.  I chose Italian,  country  and house.  Sure wish I had some more.

Can you please post more of your experiences in a sort of - super duper hog hunt thread ? We have been having some hog elimination allowed lately in my part of the world though it is all firearm based right now.
Be lovely to read more of your experiences and live vicariously.
