bow hush installation
« on: April 06, 2019, 02:54:18 PM »
I have found a bow hush kit I had purchased a few years back. I found the directions online on how to instal the yarn around the string but can't find out hope to install the string silencers.  Do you just separate the string and put them in? Or do you need to glue them?

My favorite silencer!  wax string really good, separate string slide in hush puppy. string bow, cut each side leaving 3/4 - 1" pop string a few times and leave bow strung for 24 hrs. before shooting.

Thanks Craig! Is there a magic measurement on how far down to place them?

So sorry...separate the strands equally and insert....

You can also then tie them in which is what I always recommended.... With dental floss on each ends and in the middle.....

That will help secure them a bit more if the bow is unstrung for any reason.

I have always placed mine at quarters on the string. Measure the distance from where the string contacts the bow limb (recurve) and divided by 4.  Or you can just put them opposite from the end of the fadeouts on the riser.

I use about half as much on a longbow than a recurve.
