Euro 3-D shoots
« on: May 06, 2019, 11:12:42 PM »
If I wanted to plan a trip to the EU around 3-D shoots which ones would the Gang recommend?  Would it be possible to get in more than one in 2 weeks?

When are you planing to go and where? The community here is not as unified as it is in the states and finding tournaments is not as easy. There are probably a lot of smaller local shoots but they are not found so easily as they are not collected on a single information source. Also hunting organizations' and general 3D competitions  are not usually listed on the same sources.

One link I found that might help https://www.aae-archery.com/dates-news

I'm not sure if the event is invitation only but it doesn't hurt to ask if you are welcome to join. The last two (I think) have been on germany during summer. Archery Adventures on YouTube has some videos about that event

I have watched 4 YouTube vidoes on ranges in Germany. Put on by Bodnik Bows. The idea was a comparison and eval of each. Two were in the Black Forest area I believe. I visited Germany last fall and would love to do what you propose.

I've seen those videos from Bearpaw... the courses are beautiful. Looks like 3d must be very active there to have such nice facilities, and several of them.

I am surprised Archery is so popular considering bow hunting in some of those countries isn’t legal. Maybe a different mind set?

If you're passing by the UK, have a look at the NFAS website. Their national 3D competitions are often in beautiful places, on the Scottish hills or around England lake areas. And in Northern England, in early summer, there's light till 10.30 pm (albeit only for a few weeks). Having a barbecue on the lakeside, with never-ending light was something I really loved.

Hope it helps  :)

First of all, bows are not subject to weapons law in Europe,  they are consider sport equipment. I travel alot with my bow in Europe and in airport to go back home in Canada and never had any problems. The only thing, they just need to be in a case when in cars or in the train. I find it funny too that the best country to shoot 3D is the country where bowhunting is illegal. I think that help to compensated to play wanna be  :biglaugh: You can check this site for info : www.parcourstest.eu. Up the page, you can change the language if you don't speak German. I don't know if you want absolutely to shoot a competition or just shoot a parcours, but the European have alot of them. Austria with Waidring is a really good place to go, because within 45 min drive,  you can shoot 30 differents parcours. Hope that help you.

Nock on wood, I have had very little trouble traveling with my bows.  Some interesting discussions have ensued at times.

I met up with a guy from Germany last year. He goes by Trasher, and his real name is Andy. He is friends with Hubi on here as well. He could probably give you some good info.

Hi Michael,
in Germany you can shoot every weekend some tournaments.
In the link below you can find the locations where the tournaments are for every month. It is in German language only.

Let me know if you need more information.

Regards
Hubert
