arrow spine selection dillemma
« on: June 10, 2019, 04:51:48 PM »
So i got a new bow and im shopping for arrows. Id like to try out the carbontrads from victory with the outserts. My current dillemma though is using the 3 rivers spine calculator i can either go with 350 spine at 31 inches (add another half inch with the outsert), or 450 spine at 28.5 inches. My draw length is 29 inches from the inside of the nock to the back of the bow. So either i can go with the 350 spine and have several inches of arrow hanging off the front of my bow (or i could cut it some and stiffen it), or use a 450 spine and lengthen it a bit to match my 29 inch draw length and have a slightly weak arrow. Anyone have any suggestions or advice based on past esperiences?

See if Victory has a test pack and try both I had the same dilemma with 55/60 or 60/65 I went with the 60/65 because I could up my point weight if I wanted and I did went 135 Gr to 155 Gr.

I'm shooting 44@30" and had trouble getting my 400 arrows to really fly right. Same with a 500 spine. Then I got some 450 uncut 32" with 150 up front and finally getting really nice arrow flight. 200 gr up front also fly nice but I do notice a trajectory drop.
Now if I can just get the archer tuned correctly....
