Question on mount holes in and old bow

I recently bought an older bear grizzly. The bow has 4 mount holes in the side of the riser, two are only about 1/4 inch deep but 2 are probably 1/2 inch. Do you think this will effect the power or the capabilities of the bow? I plan to do a repair on it using maple dowels I'm just curious on thoughts and opinions

Repair away and it will be solid.

You shouldn't have any problem with the strength issue, though I wouldn't use dowels. Get a small chunk of wood of the same species as that riser, then use a 1/4 plug cutter and use the same grain direction. You can almost make them disappear.

Plug them, won't hurt a thing.
I'd do as BAK suggested.

The bigger perfect circular "hole"is where the Bear Medallion goes. Pretty easy to find one to put in that spot with a little hot melt cement.
