How about some help.....ILF question

I picked up a set of used longbow limbs [ILF] and was going to try them out. Theses are 40# limbs. I mounted them on a 17" Hoyt Satori riser and after tiller was adjusted they maxed out at 39#. So them I put them on a 15" Morrison riser......they max out at 36# Never had this happen before, going shorter always raises the weight by a couple of pounds. Is it the limb pocket angel or what would cause this.
I'm confused.........

Yep. You have it. Different limb pocket angle. I haven't been to the Morrtison website recently, but he used to indicate what the difference in limb weight would be on his riser(s) vis-a-vis a standard olympic length riser.

Ok, thanks ! I was hoping to use the 15” riser and gain a few pounds. I guess not that one, lol

I believe I read where Bob changes the angle for each length riser so with his limbs and riser the weight would be the same at every length.

Hi!
I dont think it's the risers, I have 17" satori with dryad LB limbs and it is spot on with the pounds. The riser has enough room for tillering to higher poundages. Maybe the limbs are made to a certain type of riser though being ILF?

both..Riser length and limb pad angle have everything to do with poundage and if a bow is smooth or not.

I just thought it was odd to go to a shorter riser and have the poundage go down. Never had the happen before . Always gained......
