NoCams has no Compound !!!

HI Guys,
It is approximately my 1 yr anniversary this month with trad gear and tradgang. This weekend I decided it was time to ditch the cams for good, hence my handle, " NoCams ", and sell my Mathews ! I am now totally dedicated to trad gear and lovin it ! I shot the Mathews for the first time in about 10 months and after about a dozen shots remembered why I decided to go trad. No spirit in all the technology. Just another high tech gagdget with a cold aluminum riser and no soul !!! Funny thing is, the guy who came to buy my Mathews saw me and my son shooting our longbows, and after he shot mine, I just about lost the Mathews sale, haha !!! It was getting dark and he still wanted to shoot the longbow ! I know am the proud owner of a Morrison Cheyenne recurve, a Griffin Longbow, a Shrew Scout, and the ever classic Bear Grizzly circa 1969. I feel totally complete and at HOME !!! Thanks to the entire crew at TradGang for taking me under your wings !!!

Way to go!  I'm still pretty new to trad gear and haven't let go of the Mathews yet.  After shoot a curve since middle of november I decided to shoot the wheelie and much to my surprise I shot it much better than I did when I was shooting it all the time.  Guess form really does make a big difference in even a wheeled bow.

Hey Madness522, I give you about 6 more months and the only cams you will be thinking of might be one for a hot rod engine, not a bow. A man's fingers belong on the string not holding a release and pulling a trigger, that's sorta like shooting a gun, right ?

Thanks razorsharptokill, it seems that once you reach a certain point with this trad stuff there is no missing the cams at all ? I only regret being in the generation that started with cams and are only now going back to tradgear ! Why didn't I do this years ago ???

Nocams,  that is soo funny because I am almost in the same boat.   I took up trad shooting about a year ago and could not let my compound go.  I had not shot it all year and I finally took it  to a archery shop and put it on the "For sale" rack.  
Im taking that money and going to buy my wife a recurve.   She wants to try it,  maybe she can put down her wheelie bow.   we will see.

I am in the Same Boat, I still have 3 "Wheelie Bows" that I dont Shoot. I guess I have enough Money Sunk in them, to not let them Go. I have them stuck here and there, anywhere I could find Closet Space. hahaha
  Who Knows, I have been Seriously Thinking about Selling them at the Shop I havent been to a Long Time.

Sell them! I'm in the process of dumping mine. Been flip-flopping for a few years now. Finally took the plundge this winter and decided it was time to let go of the wheels. My love for achery has reverted back to my childhood days, when flingin arrows with pops was fun.

I can remember like it was yesterday.  I was in college and bow season opened on a thursday and begged my professor to hunt that morning, as long as i brought him a backstrap to lab that afternoon (still shooting with training wheels).  First light, doe walked up at 35 yards and I was back at the truck by 7:15.  When i got back to school, i sold by compund by lunch that same day and never looked back.  I am totally addicted to shooting trad!!!!!!

I gave up mt Mathews in the same manner last year. It feels good to be confident that your string bow is a formidable even lethal weapon ,, huh!! It also says something about ones shooting improvment. Way to go!

Congrats!  I gave up wheels ten years ago.  Funny thing is I recently shot some of the new compounds and was amazed at how light and quiet they were.  They've changed alot in 10 years and I found myself wanting one.

I think the transformation from compound bows to traditional archery is a sign of maturity in the archery world.

I still shoot both but dont have any wheels as of now it depends on what im hunting
