Nuther turkey blinf question

I have been borrowing a Double Bull for the last few seasons but it is time to get one. Trouble is I am too cheap to buy a Double Bull. Even when I used the DB I shot from my knees inside it and it was a little tough to get over the bottom edge of the window.

I am looking for one, maybe from Cab##as but need some input. Which one of the lesser expensive (cheaper models)is a good one to get?  I don't want a shiny one, or one that flaps in the wind. Also one with some lower windows. Need to shoot a recurve out of it.

Any suggestions?

Hey take a look in the classifieds. There is a Double Bull 360 for sell. This particular blind has sliding windows so adjustment should not be a problem.

Hey, just thought I wold chime in, recently bought 2 Ameristep Penthouse blinds,90 inches tall by 6.5 feeet wide!! Like you, just dont have enough room in the hub blinds. Two adults shooting trad. gear can stand up and shoot at the same time in the penthouse, or off stools easily. They are on sale at Nathcezss.com for $139., reg $219.00. I ordered and got mine in 3 days. The also have the blackout,scent shield liner, 12 windows, folds up in a big backpack, 28 pounds.Hope this helps,Sam Koger.

I to was considering the Ameristep Penthouse, how long does it take to set one up?

The penthouse take a lot longer to set up than a DB, I wouldn't consider setting one up in the dark inside 100yards on a gobbler like I do with my DB, I have both blinds so I know from experience.

Stone Knife would have to agree with you, this blind would be great on turkeys if you set it up the day before as it is a big blind. On the areas we hunt we  put them up for extended periods of time, but this said, can be put up by two people in a very few minutes with practice.

If you've got a Mill's Fleet Farm in your area check out a Enforcer Hub blind made by Yukon Tracks. Floor is 70" square with a center height of 80".  I just picked mine up for $135. Appears to be pretty good quility. I am going to add some Rare Earth Magnet to the zippered windows so I can open and close them quietly.
Dicks Sporting also carries it. Comes in Green and Brown camo.

I screwed around with the cheaper blinds over the years and finally ordered a DB Matrix with the recurve height option (74"). Most places are clearing out the Matrix to make room for the new Dark Horse. The Matirx Recurve Model can be had for under $399.

Save yourself the time and effort and get the DB now. I cannot tell you how great the Matrix is. I'm 6'1" and I can stand up and shoot out of mine.

groundmax escape deluxe for around $150. I'm not at all a fan of the DB-I've used a friends and it was heavy, bulky, and way too expensive. BTW-what kind of recurve is that John-very pretty bow!

Check out the Cabela's Predator Den...similar to the DB...

I got the Cabel** Predator Den. It is very DB like and I like the window system. They do look like they may take a little longer to mess with and the velcro on the shoot thru screens may need some upkeep (we'll see) but the price was right at $129. Quite a bit lighter also. I'll give it a test drive and see how it works.

I've got an Ameristep Stackhouse.  if they still make 'em, they are great for shooting longer bows and simple for one person to set up.

I tried some other brands and I agree with Brian and Curt. Go with the DB recurve. It's only money. LOL

Yup, DB all the way.

You need to get to a Cabellas and check out their bargain cave.  You can get a double bull matrix at almost any time for about $289 as opposed to the regular $400.  I realize that that is about a hundred bucks more than most of the copies but their warranty is tops, the fabric is the least reflective and it's just a well thought out and well made blind.

I traded something for my DB, and prior to that probably wouldn't have spent that much for their blind.  But now that I've hunted out of it quite a bit I think they're WELL worth the money and far better than anything else I've ever used.
