Gee, I didn't realize how "Useless" I actually am until I started reading this thread.  Here in Montana antelope archery season starts 15 Aug,  1 Sep upland game birds, first Sat in Sep general archery for deer, elk, black bear, and mt lion.  This year I have a moose tag that starts 15 Sep and it and the general deer and elk all run through the end of Nov. Some areas are open for cow elk until 15 Feb.  I usually run traps and snares for coyote and beaver most of the winter. Oh,  I almost forgot about ice fishing and pike spearing.  The Mt lion season runs through the 14th of Apr and then spring bear starts on the 15th of Apr and runs through the 15th of June.  Somewhere in April or May I try to find time for turkeys. By the time summer rolls around I am ready for a good long rest.  But wait, Now I have to get the trail cameras back out, camping, fishing,  and-----   Uh Oh  where did summer go? Its time to start all over again!!
If I'd known that I would live this long I'd have taken better care of myself.

This is my first season back to bow hunting since the wife and I have been married, so we’ll see how this goes. Guess this year will set the tone for the future. I already know of several things that are going to interrupt my September (son’s bday and not one but two campout with the Cub Scouts). However, I’m glad to be able to do stuff with him as he’s about to turn eight, and I figure in a few short years he won’t think I hung the moon anymore. Gonna soak it up while I can! The deer will always be around.

Family Vacations in October and November - NO WAY!  If I remember correctly, I have 'Oct thru Dec OFF' stated in my Prenuptial Agreement.

As far as I am concerned, my wife considers all year as the USELESS time, especially since I retired.

My wife finally got strong enough after her broken arm to have good complete form and started stacking arrows tight with a bow heavy enough to hunt with this past weekend. Monday evening our useless season began, we saw 51 different deer, where we hunt.  A number of nice bucks, no monsters, but good sized bucks none the less.

I’m leaving on our anniversary next year for 9 days to bear hunt in Canada.

I like it Kenny.  My wife had a sign hanging in our cottage in Northern Michigan which said, "When I die bury me in the woods so my husband will hunt for me".   She should out-live me as I'm 5 years older.  Told her it's okay to burn my corpse in the fire pit and spread my ashes in the Manistee National Forest.
