« on: August 04, 2019, 04:40:52 PM »
Does anyone know a maker of short brimmed breathable hats.... I am looking for one with vents... My head seems to over heat with all the ones I have tried.....
Thank you
Hopefully you will see me as a better person today than I was yesterday..

Tilley TH4. Hemp and highly breathable, durable, comfortable, blends well for hunting, floats in the water, has shade all around your head, and the shorter brim is flexible which is dandy for shooting with a bow or scope alike.

Get a regular summer vented hat & cut the brim to whatever length you want.  Take some fabric glue to the edge you cut to secure the material.

I just bought an inexpensive floppy hat that's vented from Bass Pro Shop. I think it's Red Head brand.

Reddogge, nice cool hat but with my bald head I wouldn't want to get sun burnt. :-))

You won't, the top is solid. Only the sides are mesh.

Fred and Teresa Asbell have one that looks promising: https://asbellwool.com/products/short-brim-fedora-wmesh-vent-sage .

I've seen a picture of Ron LaClair stylin' one with one of Teresa's hatbands here on the Pow Wow, I think...

Outdoor Research has some good short brims. Very light weight.  The brim is creased so you can fold it in half and stick in your pocket. I have a tan one and one in multi-cam.

I agree with the above I have a couple of the outdoor research radar pocket caps. The nylon ones are very cool I wear them in hot weather and they work well for me.

Check out Connor hats. I’ve got a wide brim one with mesh top I wear for work. Also just bought a green one with short brim and vented top for hunting.

Filsen tin cloth packer hat. People smell my hat and wonder where the circus is. Those things will make your head smell like toe. I really need to get one that is not oil and wax coated.
