I’m building my first hybrid and am curious what the best way to add my tip overlays would be. There is quite a bit more curve in these limbs than the shallow R/D bows I’ve been making lately. I have always used EA-40 to laminate a piece of thin phenolic underneath a thin strip of wood for my tips. On this bow, despite being only 1/8” thick, the wood is too stiff to bend to the shape of the limb. Do y’all just sand them to match the curve? That’s the only way I can think of, and it sounds painstaking to get the shape just right.
How do you guys do it?
